Sri Lankan pace legend Lasith Malinga is second on the list, with 25 wickets in 16 innings at an economy of 5.31. Malinga was a standout performer in the 2006 edition, taking 11 wickets in six innings at an average of 19.09.

In third place is another Sri Lankan great, Muttiah Muralitharan, with 24 wickets in 15 innings at a remarkable economy rate of 3.60. Muralitharan was the leading wicket-taker in the 2002 edition, claiming 10 wickets in just three innings at an astonishing average of 7.00.

Australian legends Brett Lee and Glenn McGrath complete the top five. Lee took 22 wickets in 15 innings at an economy of 4.79. McGrath, with 21 wickets in 12 innings at an economy of 4.03, holds the fifth spot. In the 2002 edition, McGrath was the second-highest wicket-taker, with eight wickets in three innings at an average of 11.87.
