He made 10773 runs at an average of 50.57 with 10 centuries and 73 fifties to his name. He is the only captain to win all three white-ball ICC trophies: the T20 World Cup (2007), the ICC World Cup (2011), and the Champions Trophy (2013).

Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka is in the no. 4 place with 270 sixes in 445 ODIs. A legendary opening batter, Jayasuriya changed the way ODIs were played with his aerial shots and utilizing the field restrictions as well. He was part of Sri Lanka’s 1996 World Cup-winning team and the team that jointly won the 2002 Champions Trophy with India.

West Indies legend Chris Gayle is at the no. 3 spot with 331 sixes in 301 games. He scored 10480 runs with 25 centuries and a best score of 215 runs. He was the first batter ever to score a double-century in a World Cup match, a feat Gayle achieved in the 2015 ICC World Cup.

Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, is now in the number 2 spot for the most sixes in ODI cricket. He went past Gayle’s 331 sixes, thanks to his 7 maximums during his 119-run knock against England in the Cuttack ODI in 2025. Rohit Sharma, the only batter with 3 double centuries in ODIs and the highest score ever of 264, has 338 sixes in 267 matches with 10987 runs with 32 tons and 57 fifties.

The no. 1 spot for the most sixes in ODIs belongs to Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi, who hit 351 sixes in 398 ODIs. He scored 8064 runs with 6 centuries that included one of the fastest tons in just 36 deliveries in only his second ODI in 1996 against Sri Lanka.
