The Indian Cricket Board surprised Team India supporters after the toss of the first One-Day International between India and Bangladesh on Sunday morning in Dhaka. Litton Das, the captain of Bangladesh, asked India to bat first after Rohit Sharma lost the toss. KL Rahul would be keeping the wickets, and Rohit informed that Rishabh Pant would not be participating.

Rohit didn't offer an explanation as to why he wasn't played, though. After consulting with the medical staff, Pant was released from the squad, the Indian Cricket Board later tweeted. The tweet stated that Axar Patel was also not available for selection.

"In consultation with the BCCI Medical Team, Rishabh Pant has been released from the ODI squad. He will join the team ahead of the Test series. No replacement has been sought. Axar Patel was not available for selection for the first ODI," read the tweet.

Here is Indian Cricket Board's tweet

Pant has previously experienced batting-related difficulties. He had a miserable 20-20 World Cup and later struggled against New Zealand in T20Is and ODIs in New Zealand. Pant stated that he believes he is not scoring runs in white ball cricket and that he still has time to make up for missed opportunities in an interview with Prime Video.

Pant receives constant abuse for being selected over  Sanju Samson. Fans of Samson believe that Pant is unfairly chosen for Playing 11. There hasn't been any news regarding Pant's injury as of yet. The medical staff has also determined to send him home. Not to mention that Axar Patel is also unfit and should improve before the second ODI.

In the meantime, India's first ODI match against Bangladesh is currently underway at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. At the time of writing this article, the Men in Blue are in trouble having lost their top three, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli, early on in the innings,
