“I cry the whole night” - Star Indian bowler makes a stunning revelation after Asia Cup 2025 victory

India’s mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy has made a stunning revelation after the conclusion of the successful Asia Cup 2025 campaign. Speaking exclusively on the Breakfast with Champions, the star spinner has disclosed that he is a very bad starter.

Furthermore, he also revealed that before the start of any series or a tournament, he cries the whole night and thinks excessively about what’s going to happen the next day. He also stated that it also happened during the recent Asia Cup 2025 campaign. 

"I am a very bad starter. When a new tournament is going to start, I start very badly. I cry the whole night. I am like, 'What's going to happen tomorrow? I don't know what it's going to be.' That happens in every tournament. This happened to me during this Asia Cup also," Varun Chakravarthy said on 'Breakfast with Champions'.

For the unversed, the star Indian bowler recently emerged as the No. 1-ranked bowler in the ICC Men’s T20I Bowling Rankings after his economical spells in the first two games of the Asia Cup 2025 competition. However, he has a different take on his latest achievement. 

"I follow chess now. When Gukesh won the championship, he said, 'I might be the world champion right now, but everyone knows Magnus Carlsen is the number one player.' So I might be ranked number one, but the number one is always Jasprit Bumrah. There are Sunil Narine, Rashid Khan. I am doing well but I still have some time to go before I can reach that stage," he added.

In the grand finale against Pakistan, Chakravarthy played a crucial role, scalping the important wickets of Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman, who almost turned the game towards their side in the powerplay overs. These two dismissals led Pakistan to suffer a major collapse, and eventually, India bagged a thrilling win in the chase.
