Sri Lanka, of late, have been very inconsistent in this format of the game. They did manage to draw their last series against West Indies but lost a handful of series before that. England thrashed them 2-0 in their den. Bangladesh, on the other hand, too don’t have a record to boast about. They’re coming back from a humiliating series against New Zealand where they lost all their games. In Tests, they lost 2-0 to West Indies at home.

On paper, Sri Lanka have a decent batting line up with Dimuth Karunaratne, Dinesh Chandimal, Oshada Fernando, Niroshan Dickwella and Angelo Matthews at their disposal. Also, in these conditions, spinners will be very handy and in Dhananjaya de Silva, Wanindu Hasaranga, Sri Lanka have decent options available. Bangladesh too have some good players up their ranks but they’ve failed to transform their skills into performance in this format.

Pitch Report - The match will be played at the Pallekele International Stadium. The surface should be decent to bat with the new ball offering some movement on Day 1. The spinners are expected to come into play from Day 3.
