LSG locked horns with SRH in the ongoing Indian Premier League on 7 April 2023. It was the 10th match of the tournament that took place at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. Hyderabad lost their season opener against Rajasthan. On the other hand, Lucknow also lost their last game against CSK.
So, both teams were looking for a win in this game. For SRH, Aiden Markram made his captaincy debut. However, Mark Wood missed the game after getting infected with the flu. Speaking of the match, Markram won the toss and opted to bat first. For SRH, Anmolpreet Singh and Mayank Agarwal came out to open the innings.

But, all batters of Hyderabad failed miserably against the spinners of LSG. The pitch was very spin-friendly and batters failed to tackle the spin web of Krunal Pandya, Amit Mishra, and Ravi Bishnoi. Anmolpreet scored 31 runs while Agarwal scored only eight runs. Then, Rahul Tripathi showed some fight and scored 34 runs off 41 balls. After that, both Aiden Markram and Harry Brook departed cheaply. The SRH skipper scored a golden duck while Brook scored three runs. Finally, they managed to score only 121 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. For Lucknow, Krunal Pandya, Amit Mishra, and Ravi Bishnoi grabbed three, two, and one wicket respectively.
Then, for the chase, Kyle Mayers and the skipper, KL Rahul came for the opening. But, Mayers failed to score big as he got out on 13 runs off 14 balls, including two fours. Then, Deepak Hooda also scored only seven runs off eight balls. After that, Krunal Pandya scored 34 runs and put up a 55-run partnership with Rahul. Then, Rahul got out on 35 runs. But, finally, they chased down the target in 16 overs and won the match by five wickets. Thus, it was the second win for LSG in this ongoing tournament.
