Another edition of the enthralling Indian Premier League is here and the second match of the season is destined to be scheduled between the two heavyweights of the previous season, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. The two teams will be going against each other at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad and it is slated at 3:30 PM IST with it being the first afternoon game of the season.

Hyderabad and Rajasthan had finished the previous season in second and third place respectively and both the teams would be looking to improve their game this season to finally lift the trophy. The team management for both these teams did a pretty good job in maintaining their core ahead of the mega-auctions while they also got in some fabulous players to fill in the empty boxes.

Hyderabad would be led by the same skipper they had the last season which changed the way they play cricket, Pat Cummins. While Sanju Samson would also continue to be the leader for the Rajasthan Royals for the season, he has not been deemed fit for wicketkeeping for the first three games due to which he won’t be captaining the side in the first three games. Riyan Parag is going to fill the space till then.

Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium's pitch has long been a batting-friendly surface that frequently results in high-scoring games. Usually, the surface is true and hard, which makes it easier for the ball to land on the bat and encourages aggressive stroke play. The pitch can be somewhat helpful to bowlers early on with the new ball, even though it greatly favours batsmen. Spinners typically need to rely on variations to be effective.
