On Friday, January 2, Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced South Africa’s 15-man squad for the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, which is scheduled to start on Saturday, February 6 in India and Sri Lanka.

Aiden Markram will continue to lead the 15-member squad, which will also feature the opening batter Quinton de Kock, who recently reversed his international retirement, and star pacer Anrich Nortje, who recently made his comeback from stress reaction.
Aiden Markram, Quinton de Kock, Tony de Zorzi, Dewald Brevis, Jason Smith, David Miller, and Donovan Ferreira form the batting lineup, while Kagiso Rabada, Kwena Maphaka, Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi and Corbin Bosch form the pace battery.
After being sidelined for more than two months with a rib injury, Rabada has been named in the strong squad. On the other hand, Heinrich Klaasen, who retired from international cricket, along with Tristan Stubbs, Gerald Coetzee and Tabraiz Shamsi, are the notable omissions. Notably, Tristan Stubbs was part of the T20I series against India in the just-concluded series.
Meanwhile, Keshav Maharaj will be the frontline spinner supported by George Linde, while Markram and Ferreira can also roll their arm as batting all-rounders. Also, keeper-batter Ryan Rickelton failed to make it to the squad.
For the unversed, South Africa are in Group D of the campaign along with Afghanistan, New Zealand, Canada and the UAE. Interestingly, South Africa is yet to win the ICC men's T20 World Cup but they reached the grand finale in the last edition, ending as the runners-up to India.
