Star Indian bowler Kuldeep Yadav’s omission from the second of the two-match Test series has shocked a lot of people in the Indian cricketing fraternity. Following the announcement of this decision on the morning of the first day of the Mirpur Test, the Indian team management happened to be on the receiving end of harsh criticism from the cricket fans, former cricketers, and experts of the game.

Notably, Kuldeep Yadav won the ‘player of the match award for his brilliant performance in the first Test played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhary Stadium in Chattogram. He scalped a total of 8 wickets in the match including a five-wicket haul in the first innings.

In the same line of events, senior Indian pacer Umesh Yadav has also come up with a statement on the same. Umesh felt that it was a management ‘call’. Meanwhile, he also cleared up the reason why Kuldeep could’ve been omitted from the playing XI of the second Test of the series.

"It's part of your journey. It happened to me also. Sometimes you are out of the team because of performance and sometimes it's a management's call. You have to go with the team's requirements, it’s good for him (Kuldeep) that he came back and performed well (in the first Test in Chattogram).” Said Umesh Yadav after the end of the first day’s play in the Mirpur Test.

Speaking of Umesh’s performance on the first day, he shone for the visitors by scalping four wickets conceding only 25 runs in the 15 overs. The 35-year-old also lavished praises on the left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat who made his Test comeback after a long gap of 12 years.

"When he (Unadkat) made his debut, I was with him in South Africa. So, I'm very happy for him that he finally got his chance. He has performed well in the domestic season. When he came into the bowl with the new ball, the ball was doing a bit, many balls took the nick of batter's gloves," said Umesh while talking about Unadkat.
