The Indian fan has to go through a lot of turmoil as the hotel rates in Ahmedabad have skyrocketed to the max.

As India gears up to host the ODI World Cup for the fourth time. The loyal Indian fans have not had it easy right from the start. Frequent schedule changes have made it a big logistical hassle for the fans to plan ahead for the games that will be played in 10 venues across the country. The cricket-crazy Indian public cannot wait for the historic India vs Pakistan clash at Ahmedabad.

The situation at present is dire from the cricket fans' point of view. Tickets for the game do not go up for sale until September 3 according to ESPNcricinfo. They have to go physically to collect the tickets. When it comes to hotel prices, they have massively surged. Hotels that used to charge 4000 per night are now charging 16000 per night. Some stay packages are costing 350,000 for two nights the report further stated.

Thus, the Indian fan is burdened as he has to burn a massive hole in his pocket to watch the game. There were earlier reports stating that due to skyrocketing hotel prices, NRIs and others who have come down to watch the game were exploring the option of booking a hospital bed and watching the game there. The fans could also avail the medical facilities that were there in the hospital.

The craze for the India-Pakistan clash has made things go to the roof. In the World Cup semi-final game in 2011, it was a great affair as it involved the two Prime Ministers from both countries coming together in Mohali. The political bigwigs of India were also there in attendance to watch the match, India won the game by 29 runs.

In 2016, when the two teams met in Kolkata for the T20 World Cup that fixture was also a grand event. India won that game as well. It remains to be seen what happens this time around. The Pakistan team recently got the green light from the home affairs ministry to fly down to India for the World Cup.
