In a major blow for the Indian team, skipper Rohit Sharma has sustained a thumb injury in the ongoing match against Bangladesh. Notably, the men in blue are locking horns with the hosts in the second of the three-match ODI series at the Sher-E-Bangla stadium in Mirpur.
Following the injury, Rohit Sharma was taken to hospital for the further scans and check-ups. It all happened when he went for a fielding effort and ended up injuring his thumb. The men in blue are currently trailing by a margin of 0-1 after losing the first match against Bangladesh.

Here's what happened in the second ODI so far
Speaking of the match so far, Bangla skipper Litton Das has decided to bat first after winning the toss and Bangladesh has scored 47 runs for the loss of two wickets in 12.4 overs. Najmul Hasan Shanto and senior all-rounder Shakib-Al-Hasan are there in the middle on the individual scores of 16 and 5 runs respectively.
The opening pair of Anamul Haque and skipper Litton Das could add only 11 runs for the first wicket. Subsequently, the hosts lost their second wicket on the score of 29 runs.
Star India pacer Mohammed Siraj has scalped two wickets so far by conceding 29 runs in five overs.
Earlier, India was handed an embarrassing defeat by Bangladesh in the first ODI by a margin of only one wicket. Thanks to the brilliant and match-defining knock from Mehidy Hasan Miraz who stood there in the middle and stitched a half-century partnership with the number 11 batter to cross the finishing line for his team.
Currently, the hosts will be eyeing to win the series by crossing the line in this ongoing second match of the series.
