‘Sir dara kyu rahe ho!’ - Fans react to viral ‘Thank You’ tweet for fans from CSK head coach Stephen Fleming just before IPL 2023 Final against GT

On 28 May 2023, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are set to lock horns with Gujarat Titans (GT) at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad in the final of the ongoing IPL. CSK will look to win their fifth title while GT have the chance to win this title for the second consecutive year. So, an enthraling battle is waiting for fans in Ahmedabad.

Ahead of this clash, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming shared a ‘Thank You’ tweet for fans for showing so much support to the team during this season. But, seeing such a heartwarming message, fans thought that it might be an indication that this will be the final stint for him as a coach or MS Dhoni as a player.

Since the start of this season, speculations are there that this will be the last IPL season for Dhoni. So, CSK fans went crazy seeing that and shared their views on social media. Speaking of the tweet, Fleming wrote: “Not long now until the final game so a perfect time to say ‘thank you’ for all the support that the team has received this year. We all understand the love for the captain but to see the grounds so full of yellow has been truely amazing. Enjoy tonight, it should be a cracker.”    

CSK fans have shown an immense amount of love by turning up at every ground for MS Dhoni and his men throughout this season. However, after winning against GT in qualifier one in Chennai, MS Dhoni shared an update regarding his retirement. During the post-match presentation ceremony, he was asked if the Chennai fans would see him over there again. In reply, Dhoni said: “I don't know, I have 8-9 months to decide. I have ample time to decide. The auction is in December. I will always come to CSK. I have been out of home from January, been practicing since March, so we will see." Meanwhile, Stephen Fleming played in the inaugural season for CSK in 2008 and got appointed as the head coach of the franchise in 2009.
