Senior Indian batter and vice-captain KL Rahul is under the scanner due to his horrific run with the bat for the last couple of months. The 30-year-old failed miserably in the 20-20 World Cup 2022 having only two half-centuries to his name and that too against lower-ranked teams like Zimbabwe and Bangladesh in the last two super-12 matches of team India.

KL Rahul’s misery with the bat continued on the Bangladesh tour as well, he could score only 97 runs in all three innings of the three ODIs against the hosts with a below-par average of 31.66. He had only one half-century to his name in the entire 50-over series against Shakib’s men. Later on, in the Test series, the management named Rahul as the stand-in skipper in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma. But it couldn’t change his outings with the bat and he could score only 57 runs in four innings of the Two tests with a very poor average of 14.25.

Recently, the Karnataka batter posted a video of his nets practice ahead of the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka. Although, a section of the Indian cricket fans took it as an opportunity to troll the Lucknow skipper, and subsequently, they also recalled the horrible outings of KL Rahul when it was required from him at the highest level of the game.

Currently, the men in blue under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya are locking horns with Sri Lanka in the ongoing three-match T20I series. Both teams will lock horns in the third and last T20I of the three-match series at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

The series is currently leveled with a score-line of 1-1 as the Islanders outplayed the hosts in the second T20 in Pune by 16 runs to cross the finishing line.
