Chennai had a season to forget in the Indian T20 League 2022. They finished second from the bottom with just 4 wins in 14 matches. Prior to the start of the season, MS Dhoni handed the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja. However, the franchise suffered defeats consistently and, as a result, the captaincy was handed over back to MS Dhoni.

They did manage to win a couple of games, thereafter, but couldn’t reach the playoffs. MS Dhoni, though, performed better with the bat than the last year. He played some valuable knocks and also scored a half-century while batting in the middle-order. In 14 matches, MS Dhoni amassed 232 runs at an average of 33.14.

During the last game of Chennai’s campaign, he also revealed that he will be playing next season as well for Chennai. Meanwhile, New Zealand former cricketer, Simon Doull made an interesting revelation on the Chennai skipper in the post-match show on Cricbuzz.

He asked the former Indian skipper about his plans after the Indian T20 League 2022. MS Dhoni has revealed that he will take a short break before getting back on the field to play cricket.

"I had a chat with MS Dhoni the other night after the game and the one thing I asked him about what are you going to do for the next little while?" Simon Doull said on Cricbuzz.

"He (Dhoni) said I'm going to take a short break, and I'M GOING TO PLAY SOME CRICKET." He added.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is regarded as one of the greatest players ever to play the game. He has played a massive role in making Chennai the second most successful outfit in the Indian T20 League. Under his leadership, Chennai has won 4 titles. In his Indian T20 League career, he has scored 4978 runs at an average of close to 40. He is the only captain in the history of World Cups to have led the side his country to all three ICC titles.
