Shubman Gill won't take field on Day 4 of the second Test against England. The opener has been taken for a precautionary scan after he copped a blow on his left arm on the third day of the match. Gill was fielding at forward short leg when a slog sweep from one of the England batsman hit his left arm.

"Shubman Gill sustained a blow on his left forearm while fielding on Day 3 of the 2nd Test. He has been taken for a precautionary scan. The BCCI Medical Team is assessing him. He won't be fielding today," tweeted BCCI

Gill didn’t do much with the bat in this Test and scored just 14 runs in the two innings. He has emerged as the No 1 opener for India after impressing  everyone in the recently concluded Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.

India are on the verge of levelling the 4 match series after reducing England to 116-7 at Lunch of Day 4. Joe Root is still out there but it’s only a matter of time before India wrap up the game. Earlier, India’s second innings folded out for 286 with Ravichandran Ashwin leading their charge with a top-class hundred.

Virat Kohli too looked in fine form and scored a solid 62. Chasing 482, England inning never took off as their batsmen fell prey to some class bowling by the Indian spinners with Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin picking up 3 wickets each. Kuldeep Yadav too managed to pick up a wicket.
