Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Iyer went straight to his room to get a four-hour sleep after winning the game and he got back to attend the press conference for the grand finale. Notably, Iyer played a match-winning knock of 87* against PBKS.

"I couldn't sleep. I only got four hours of sleep last night, and here I am. I went to my room, and the next thing I know, I'm here doing the PC,” Shreyas Iyer said at Monday's pre-final press conference.

While RCB made it to the final three times earlier in previous IPL seasons, Shreyas Iyer has the experience of taking his side to title win for the Kolkata Knight Riders last year. Iyer is the leading run-scorer for his franchise with 603 runs from 16 innings at 54.81 with six fifty-plus scores.

"When I say I'm in the zone, it starts well before the match - from the warm-up to the way you plan and approach the game. Once I was completely locked in, I knew how I was going to rally the players, and they did a phenomenal job restricting them to 203,” he stated.

"Once my eyes were set, it was all about flow and trusting my instincts," he said. "But I didn't feel like celebrating - the job is only half done. This is the game that matters. It's about staying in the moment - and we're brimming with positivity,” he concluded.

RCB earlier made it to the final in 2009, 2011 and 2016 while PBKS made it to the final in IPL 2014 against KKR. Interestingly, both sides failed to have their hands on the silverware so far.
