Team India batting all-rounder Shivam Dube, who scalped a match-winning 3/4 in two overs against the UAE, has stated that the match against the hosts wasn’t a warm-up game for the much-awaited Pakistan clash on Sunday, September 14.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Dube talked about the advice he received from the Indian head coach, captain, and bowling coach, which developed his confidence on the bowling front.

"Captain and coach had told me earlier that I would get to bowl, and I have their confidence. My bowling coach had told me certain things and I was preparing myself for it. These preparations paid off today and it feels good when you do well for your country,” Dube said in the post-match press conference.

Interestingly, India’s last T20I series came earlier this year against England when they won the five-match T20I series by 4-1. However, Dube asserted that they don’t consider any match as a warm-up game while playing for India.

"Whenever we play for India, we do not consider any match as a warm-up match. We take pride in playing for our country. Every match is important for us. Definitely, we played after a long time, and it was really good,” he added.

Furthermore, Dube also talked about the comparisons with his fellow batting all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who bowled only one over, conceding 10 runs. Moreover, he also talked about the nature of the pitch used for the UAE clash.

"The experience he has is a lot. I try to learn as much as possible and ask a lot from him. I do not think about comparisons, I just want to learn something that would make me better," he added.

"It has not been used much (the pitch). It would spin more and behave more better in coming matches. It is good for us," he concluded.
