Former India cricketer Manoj Tiwary reverses decision to retire from all forms of cricket in after just 5 days of announcing it.

Manoj Tiwary rescinds his decision to retire from all forms of cricket a week after he did so. This transpired after he had a conversation with the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President Snehasis Ganguly. Tiwary will take all steps required to return to the Bengal fold. In the 2022-23 season, Bengal reached the Ranji Trophy semi-finals under his leadership.

Snehasis also made a request to the former India cricketer to continue to play for Bengal. Bengal were runners-up in the 2022-23 season. Tiwary has represented India in 12 ODIs and 3 T20Is. He played his last game for the national side in 2015 in Harare, Zimbabwe. Tiwary scored 287 runs for India in ODIs with an average of 26.09 and a strike rate of 71.21. He has hit one hundred and one fifty in ODI cricket.

Manoj Tiwary scored 1695 runs in Indian Premier League

The Bengal player scored a century against Sri Lanka and took four wickets against them on the shores in the same game, this was his moment of reckoning. When it comes to the Indian Premier League (IPL) he has played for four sides, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Rising Pune SuperGiant, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals. Tiwary starred in 98 IPL matches and hit seven half-centuries.

He made 1695 runs at an average of 28.72 and at a strike rate of 116.97. When it comes to first-class cricket, Tiwary has been a giant in Bengal cricket over the years. In 141 matches, he has made 29 hundreds and 45 fifties. He has scored 9908 runs for his state side. The right-hander was also part of KKR in 2012 when they lifted their first IPL title in Chennai.

“Goodbye to the game of cricket. This game has given me everything, I mean every single thing which I had never dreamt of, starting from the times when my life was challenged by different forms of difficulties. I will always be grateful to this game and to the GOD, who has always been by my side throughout". Tiwary said in an emotional post that he had penned down five days ago.
