Shane Warne passed on away on the 4th of March, 2022 due to a suspected heart attack during a trip to Thailand. Warne was often called a magician by cricket fans for his exploits with the ball on-field. But his life was just as colourful off the field.
Shane Warne never missed a chance to grab the headlines. From doing magic with the ball to a relationship with actress Elizabeth Hurley, Warne was always the talk of the town. The man lived his life to the fullest. According to recent reports, the fans will witness the colourful life of the legend in a new miniseries, which will air next year.
Nine Entertainment Co. has taken up the responsibility to present the life of the legend to the audience. They are in talks with a production company to make the project a reality. Andy Ryan, the drama head of Nine Entertainment, said that the miniseries will be a “premium quality drama with international appeal.”
In a conversation with The Sydney Morning Herald, Ryan told – “Warnie’s life was so full of drama, like the man himself. The miniseries will be larger than life- entertaining, confronting, thought-provoking.”
Andy also felt that fans deserve a glimpse of Warne’s life because the man was special. “He was a sporting legend, a national treasure, international kind of icon, but he was also a larrikin, a rogue and a charmer and a flawed man”- he said.
In his opinion, the national pouring of grief on the icon’s death has shown the impact Warne had on the people. Warne’s state memorial service will take place at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground on the 30th of March. TV sources have revealed that Nine, Seven, ABC, and Foxtel, all intend to broadcast the event.
