Shikhar Dhawan is currently out of any contention from team India across any format. In recent months, he was an integral part of the ODI side of the Men in Blue. He even was the leader while senior players like Rohit Sharma took a rest from several series. But, in 2021, his personal life also got hampered when he divorced his wife Ayesha Mukherjee in September.

However, recently, the relationship between Shikhar Dhawan and his ex-wife got bitter. Dhawan claimed that she has threatened him to ruin his image and career. The star cricketer also filed a plea in Delhi Court. Dhawan also said that she has already sent defamatory messages to the CEO of his Indian T20 League Delhi franchise, Dheeraj Malhotra.

Her main aim is to make his image bad in front of the team CEO. Regarding that, judge Harish Kumar said that if Mukherjee has "real" grievances against Dhawan, she cannot be restrained from lodging them with the concerned authority. The judge said: "She can certainly be restrained from sharing her grievance against him (Dhawan) with her friends, relatives, and peers of parties as well as from making it public even before approaching the appropriate authority."

He also added: “In these circumstances, she is hereby restrained till further order from circulating any of her grievances against Dhawan or her version of the dispute involved herein or the alleged defamatory and false material against him in social media, print media or to any other forum or to friends, relatives or colleagues of the parties.” Speaking of his career for the Men in Blue, Shikhar Dhawan has played 269 international matches across all formats. In those matches, he has scored 10867 runs. However, he had a terrible ODI series in Bangladesh. In three matches, Shikhar Dhawan scored just 18 runs in three matches. After that, the selectors have avoided him for the latest ODI series at home against the Lankans and Kiwis respectively.
