Afridi’s residential visa in the UAE has expired and the cricketer got to know about the same after landing in the UAE. According to the report in The News (Pakistan), Shahid Afridi has headed back to Pakistan to fix the issue and is expected to join the Qalandars unit soon.

As of now, his arrival in the UAE has been delayed and it remains to be seen if he will be able to feature in the opening game of the Qalandars. Thankfully for the franchise, their first game is on January 29 and they will be hoping that the former Pakistan cricketer resolves the issue and joins the team in time for the first match.

The Qalandars will be led by Sohail Akhtar during the T10 League this season and the side boasts of an interesting mix of international players. The veterans of the shortest format like Chris Jordan, Samit Patel, Sohail Tanvir, and Ben Dunk apart from Afridi will be keen on helping the team go all the way this season.

Qalandars are in the Group B alongside Deccan Gladiators, Pune Devils, and Team Abu Dhabi. They will be hoping to go one step further this time around after missing out on making it to the final of the tournament despite finishing at second place in the points table after the first two rounds. However, for that to happen they would badly need Afridi’s experience and the veteran cricketer should join them soon.
