Time and again, Danish Kaneria has grabbed the headlines for his bold statements. The former Pakistan cricketer has never shied away from blatantly expressing his thoughts. Recently, he had gone on to claim that Shahid Afridi used to mistreat him due to his religion, and even tried to force him to convert to Islam.

While replying to his allegations, the former all-rounder defended himself, and stated that Kaneria should look into his own character. Afridi stated that if the allegations against him were true, then Kaneria should have complained to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) back then. Afridi also termed India as an "enemy country".

“He is accusing me to get cheap fame and make money. Kaneria was like my younger brother and I played with him in the department for many years. If my attitude was bad then why he did not complain to the Pakistan Cricket Board or the department he was playing for. He is giving interviews to our enemy country which can incite religious sentiments," said Shahid Afridi, as quoted by Sports Tiger.

However, Kaneria then took to Twitter to criticize the former Pakistan captain. He stated that India isn't an "enemy country".

"India is not our enemy. Our enemies are those who instigate people in the name of religion. If you consider India as your enemy, then don't ever go to any Indian media channel. @SAfridiOfficial" read Danish Kaneria Tweet.

Earlier, the 41-year-old had called Afridi a "liar" and "manipulator". He claimed that Afridi used to provoke other players against him. Further on, Kaneria also claimed that the former bowling all-rounder was jealous of him.

“He didn’t want me to be in the team. He was a liar, and manipulator because he’s a characterless person. However, my focus was only on cricket and I used to ignore all these tactics. Shahid Afridi was the only person who would go to other players and provoke them against me. I was performing well and he was jealous of me. I am proud that I played for Pakistan. I was grateful,” he added.
