Known for his unorthodox shots, Pant makes life tough for the opposition bowlers, especially in the red-ball format. Speaking in a rapid-fire session organised by Grasscricket, Boland asserted that Pant knows how to slog a bowler for a six and to block it on the same ball.

"Rishabh Pant from India. He's someone who's very unpredictable. So, I feel like sometimes he slogs you for six and you bowl the same ball, and he blocks it. So, he is very hard to bowl to," said Boland in rapid-fire, organised by Grasscricket.

During the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 campaign, Indian middle-order batter Pant had shared his mutual admiration for Boland, stating that he is an amazing bowler and bowls quite difficult lines and lengths when it comes to the longest format of the game.

"I think he's been an amazing bowler. The way he bowls line and lengths, especially in Test cricket, is quite difficult because he's so used to playing in the conditions, and you don't feel like he's playing his first initial matches. It feels like he's been there for a long period of time, and that's the kind of experience," he said at the time.

Notably, Pant has an exceptional record against Australia in Tests, scoring 879 runs from 21 innings at an average of 46.26 with a century and three half-centuries. Interestingly, all these runs came Down Under.

Speaking about Boland's numbers against India, he has played five Tests, scalping 16 wickets with the best bowling figures of 10/76 in a match. However, he is yet to scalp a wicket in India having played only one Test.
