KL Rahul has been in the headlines in recent times due to his poor run of form with the bat in the Test format. After having a poor Test series in Bangladesh, fans were expecting this star batter to score runs in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. But, in the first two matches of the series, Rahul scored just 38 runs in three innings.

After the second Test in Delhi, coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma showed support to the batter despite such form. Still, fans were thinking that he might get dropped for the next two matches as the squad got announced on the same day. But, the selectors showed faith in KL Rahul and kept him in the squad.

KL Rahul will look to do well in the upcoming Tests against the Aussies

During this series, former India cricketer Venkatesh Prasad slammed the Indian Cricket Board several times on Twitter. He accused the board of favoring Rahul instead of other batters despite his poor run of form. Even, after the Delhi Test, he shared some stats related to Rahul in Tests. But, after that, another former cricketer, Aakash Chopra shared some tweets song with stats to show support to the star batter. 

He wrote: “Indian batters in SENA countries. May be, this is the reason selectors/coach/captain are backing KLR. He’s played 2 Tests at home (ongoing BGT) during this period No, I don’t need an Indian Cricket Board role as a selector/coach I don’t need any mentor, coaching role at any Indian T20 League team either.”

Meanwhile, it has been found that KL Rahul’s father-in-law, Suniel Shetty has liked the same tweet. Recently, the Indian batter got married to the Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty, the daughter of the Bollywood actor, Suniel Shetty.
