'Saste nashe...' - Fans mock cricket's governing body as Shaheen Afridi gets nominated for women's player of the month

Cricket’s governing body has announced the nominees for the player of the month award for November on Tuesday, 6th of December. The body has announced the names in both men and women categories. Speaking of the men’s category, the list of nominees includes the likes of Shaheen Shah Afridi, England skipper Jos Buttler, and his fellow English teammate Adil Rashid.

On the other hand, Gaby Lewis, Natthakan Chanthan, and veteran Sidra Ameen have been nominated for the player of the month award. Although, a mistake from cricket’s governing body caught the eyeballs of cricket fans over social media as the body mistakenly added the name of Shaheen Afridi to the list of women nominees.

Within a few seconds of the tweet, cricket’s governing body realized the mistake and immediately corrected it. But the eagle-eyed fans noticed it and didn’t take too long in making a joke of the cricket’s governing body.

Jos Buttler impressed everyone with his stellar performances in the recently concluded 20-20 World Cup 2022. He played a vital role in England’s outstanding victory of 10 wickets against India. He played an amazing knock in the second semi-final of the tournament.

Speaking of the current action in the cricketing world, England is on a tour of Pakistan for the three-match Test series. The three lions have won the first match and currently leading the series by a margin of 1-0. Whereas, Rohit Sharma-led Indian team is touring Bangladesh for the three-match ODI series followed by a two-match Test series.

The men in blue lost the first match of the series against Bangladesh by a margin of one wicket. The hosts are leading the series by 1-0 and both teams are currently in action during the second ODI.

In another contention, the Australian team is hosting West Indies for the Test series and is leading the series by 1-0. Both teams will lock horns in the second and last Test of the series tomorrow on the 8th of December at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.
