On 29 May 2023, the final of the IPL took place at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT). The stage was set for an enthralling final and fans did not get disappointed as CSK managed to win the thrilling game by five wickets.

Thus, they managed to win their fifth IPL title. The secretary of the Indian Cricket Board, Jay Shah was also present. But, he made headlines after a video of him making an absurd gesture during the last over of that clash went viral. Seeing that, fans went crazy and slammed him brutally on social media.

Speaking of the video, Shah was found doing such an inappropriate gesture during the last over of the game when CSK needed 13 runs. After two balls, they needed 12 runs off four balls and then the camera caught him doing such a gesture in the stands. Speaking of the match, GT batted first and scored 214 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. Sai Sudharsan was the star of the show scoring 96 runs off 47 balls. In reply, their target got reduced to 171 runs in 15 overs due to heavy rain. Finally, Ravindra Jadeja held his nerve when CSK needed 10 runs off the last two balls. 

He smashed one six and one four respectively against Mohit Sharma and won the game for CSK by five wickets at Ahmedabad. After such a thrilling win, Jay Shah also came up with a tweet to congratulate MS Dhoni and his men. He wrote: “Congratulations to @ChennaiIPL & @msdhoni for being crowned champions of #TATAIPL 2023. My sincere thanks to all our doting fans who braved the rains & returned in large numbers again to witness the final. Indian Cricket grows from strength to strength because of your unflinching support.”
