Jasprit Bumrah's wife, Sanjana Ganesan, disclosed that the pacer has improved as a player after becoming a parent to their son, Angad. The pair secretly married in 2021, and the child was born in September 2023.
Sanjana was a broadcaster on one of Bumrah's cricket trips when they first met. The relationship developed into love, and the couple secretly got married in 2021. In 2023, a few years later, Sanjana gave birth to their son, Angad.
In the meantime, Sanjana Ganesan revealed in the most recent episode of the podcast "Moments of Silence" that Jasprit Bumrah had left the Asia Cup in the middle of the tournament to attend the birth of his first child, Angad.
“Be a dad and husband,”-Sanjana Ganesan says, having Angad at home helps Jasprit Bumrah relax
Sanjana went on to say that since Angad came into their lives, Bumrah has improved and grown as a cricket player. He has taken a far more serene and tranquil approach.
“When we first held our baby in the hospital, Jasprit was playing in the Asia Cup at the time. He flew back as soon as he could. I don’t want to say it, but I do think he’s been a better cricketer since Angad came along. Having a peaceful home to come back to really helps him switch off and be a dad and a husband," Sanjana said on the "Moment of Silence" podcast.
On September 4, 2023, India played Nepal. Naturally, Bumrah flew back to his wife and missed the game. But before the Super 4 schedule started, he made a speedy comeback. He played in the final as well, where India won the trophy by defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets.
Jasprit Bumrah is a generational talent who excels at performing under duress, according to Indian cricket and its supporters. For any captain in any format, he is the go-to savior.
“For me, family is more important.” - Jasprit Bumrah
But for Bumrah, family is the source of tranquility. The bowler stated that his family is more significant to him than the cricket pitch during his interview with Michael Clarke on the Beyond23 Cricket Podcast.
“For me, family is more important than my career because you know that is constant. There are two things that I take seriously. One is my family, and one is my game, but family comes first. I have to give priority, and I do give priority because I will not be a cricketer all the time. For them, I’m not a cricketer. "I’m a human being," Bumrah said on the podcast.
He clarified that although cricket won't endure forever, his family's love and support will. He can therefore more easily give the latter priority.
