“Sam Konstas got under Kohli’s skin”

It's important to note that throughout the BGT series, Virat Kohli struggled with fourth stump-line deliveries. He nicked the away from off deliveries, giving catches to the keeper or slip cordon.

Speaking to Willow Talk, Haddin stated that Kohli was well aware on how Australia would take his wicket. Moreover, he asserted that he hadn’t seen a 35-year-old having a shoulder bump with a 19-year-old in his career.

"He (Sam Konstas) got under Kohli's skin. Kohli was frustrated... Kohli was frustrated with his game. He came out to bat, everyone in every commentary box said, Australia are going to bowl on fourth or fifth stump, they will play on Kohli's patience and he got out the same way every time,” Brad Haddin told Willow Talk.

"He fell for the same plan all the time. On this occasion, the young kid got under his skin. He [Kohli] reacted in a way, if you were sitting in the change room, you would have said, we've got 'em here, we've broken the back of India,” he added.

Virat Kohli managed to score only 190 runs from nine innings of BGT 2024-25 at an average of 23.75 with one century. After starting off well in the series in Perth with a century, Kohli rarely looked in good touch with 36 being his next-best score in the series.

With India moving to the new WTC cycle from June, they will be locking horns with England away from home. Virat Kohli would be aiming to make a strong comeback in this series.
