Legendary cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar has taken a dig at Henry Nicholls's dismissal on the first day of the Test between England and New Zealand. Nicholls' dismissal went viral on social media due to its unusual nature. The left-hander tried to hit an on-drive against Jack Leach. The way he timed the ball would have gone for a boundary most of the time.

However, to his bad luck, the ball hit the non-striker, Daryl Mitchell's bat and deflected towards Alex Lees on short mid-off. For the initial moments, Leach couldn't believe what transpired on the field. Even the television commentators couldn't believe it and pointed out how 'Mitchell middled the ball'. For the unversed, the all-rounder has hit three centuries in the series. Coming back to the incident, Tendulkar took to Twitter and took a hilarious dig at it.

The 2011 World Cup winner tweeted 'β€˜In gully cricket, we’d declare the non-striker out.' with a laughing emoji.

Talking about the game, Daryl Mitchell scored his third hundred of the series and took his team to 325/8 till Lunch on Day Two. Apart from him, another in-form player Tom Blundell (55) scored a half-century and stitched a partnership of 120 runs after the team was tottering at 123/5. Tim Southee was at the other end batting on 33 when Mitchell got out 109 at the stroke of Lunch break.

After Lunch, the Blac Caps managed to score 329 runs before getting all-out. On the other hand, England had a poor start in their innings. They lost half of their side for a score of just 55 runs in the first 12 overs. Not to forget, they lost the last game after scoring more than 500 runs
