The 20-20 World Cup has kicked off with a few upsets in Round 1 as Namibia outplayed the Asian champions, Sri Lanka, in the inaugural match of this edition. Whereas Scotland defeated the two-time World 20-20 champions West Indies in their first match of the tournament.

Subsequently, former legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar has picked his four teams who might feature in the semi-finals of the tournament. He also expressed his opinion apart from a desire to watch the Indian team lifting the title once again after a long wait of 15 years.

The 48-year-old included the hosts and reigning champions, Australia alongside the world’s current number-one team in T20Is, India.

Later on, the World Cup winner batter also added Pakistan and England to complete his list of four teams who will be in strong contention for the semi-finals. He also mentioned the threat the New Zealand team can produce to the other teams in the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup.

“I would obviously want India to be the champions but my top four would be India, Pakistan, Australia, and England. New Zealand is the dark horse as is South Africa... Notably, Indians will start their campaign in the 20-20 World Cup 2022 on the 23rd of October at MCG in Melbourne with their first match against the arch-rivals Pakistan. Earlier, India and Pakistan faced off each other in the Asia Cup 2022 for two times.

Talking about the 20-20 World Cup, Pakistan had broken the winning streak of India in the World Cups against them with a massive win of 10 wickets during last year’s 20-20 World Cup. This time, Rohit’s men will be eyeing on to clear off their books with the men in green for the last defeat of 20-20 World Cup 2021.
