While there are fans going the extra mile to celebrate Dhoni's birthday and vie for his attention, even other cricketers are not far away. Young India wicketkeeper, Rishabh Pant who is sidelined due to an injury, also took this opportunity to cut a cake on behalf of Dhoni.
Taking to the photo-sharing platform, Instagram, the 25-year-old shared a picture of himself behind a cake. His caption for the post read, "Happy birthday Mahi bhai. Aap to ho nhi paas aapke liye cake cut leta hun main. Happy birthday (Happy birthday brother Mahi. Since you're now with me, I'll cut the cake on your behalf. Happy birthday Mahi)."
Soon, fans drove in numbers to this post given MS Dhoni's huge popularity on social media. Many fans took the post as a genuine appreciation of Dhoni by Pant. Some however also claimed that Pant is doing all this just to be in the news since he isn't playing any games these days.

Pant's unfortunate year 2023
The young India batter got into an accident at the end of last year when his car hit a divider and flipped off. The videos and pictures of the gruesome accident soon went viral in which Pant could be seen being dragged away from his burning car.
The Delhi Capitals player had sustained a lot of injuries due to which he had to go through months of rehabilitation. The southpaw is still going through the process of recovery with no certainty of his comeback.
The young batter has missed the IPL and is set to miss the Asia Cup 2023 as well as ODI World Cup 2023 as well. This sure comes as a huge loss for Pant and his career. Fans however are hopeful of his comeback and wish the batter to make a full recovery soon.
