On 14 February 2023, star India batter Prithvi Shaw made headlines as his Instagram story with the ‘Wifey’ caption went viral. He was seen celebrating Valentine’s Day with his rumoured girlfriend Nidhhi Tapadiaa. He shared a picture of them pouting at each other with a caption: “Happy Valentines my wifey” while tagging her with one kiss and one love emoticon.

Fans went crazy as they found the story on the social media platform. However, the Instagram story is currently unavailable on his official account as he might have deleted it after some time. Now, he came up with an update that it was an edited pic and he did not share that story on his account by himself.

In another Instagram story, Prithvi Shaw wrote: "Someone editing my pics and showing stuff that I haven't put on my story or on my page. So ignore all the tags and msges thx." fans went crazy after seeing such a story where he mentioned the girl as his wife. Some fans also started speculating whether Prithvi Shaw has already married her or not. However, he earned a call to team India in the recently concluded home T20I series against the Kiwis. But, unfortunately, Shaw did not get featured in any one of those three matches. However, he managed to perform well in the domestic circuit for Mumbai.

Prithvi scored 595 runs in 10 innings of the Ranji Trophy 2022/23 season. He batted at an average of 59.50. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored 332 runs in 10 innings, at an average of 36.88. But, his strike rate of 181.42 was what made headlines. He was instrumental in Mumbai’s trophy-winning journey. But, Prithvi had a moderate Vijay Hazare Trophy, scoring 217 runs in seven innings, at an average of 31 with a strike rate of 105.33. He also bagged nine awards.
