‘Saara suspense khatam’ - Fans go crazy as big screen at Narendra Modi Stadium shows CSK as runners up ahead of IPL 2023 final against GT

On 28 May 2023, the stage is getting set for a thrilling IPL final between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT). As per reports since the start of the season, this might be the last game for MS Dhoni in IPL. So, CSK fans are hoping for him to win the fifth title by defeating GT at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

But, just before the start of the match, an image went viral on social media where a big screen at Narendra Modi Stadium showed CSK as runners up. Seeing that, fans went crazy and shared their views. Speaking of form, GT finished at the top spot with 20 points in 14 games after the group stage. While CSK finished in the second spot with 17 points in 14 games. So, both of them clashed in qualifier one at Chepauk, Chennai. But, CSK managed to register their first-ever win over GT in that clash and registered themselves for this year’s final. As of now, in four meetings, GT have won thrice while CSK have won once. Then, in qualifier two at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, GT defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) and again set up a meeting with CSK at the final.

However, the former Team India player, Sunil Gavaskar claimed that he would want MS Dhoni to win the final. While speaking to Indian Today, he said: "Chennai Super Kings have always been my second favourite team apart from the Mumbai Indians. My heart wants CSK to win because the fact that MS Dhoni is able to win it one more time would be fantastic. Proving once again that calm, cool decision-making can make a difference. Having said that, Gujarat Titans have been the best team. They have got a terrific opener in Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya."
