Rajasthan Royals didn’t have many options in the mega auction to bet on having retained as many as six players. They had a bare minimum purse left with them as well and under Rahul Dravid’s watchful eyes, they trusted utility players in their line-up to build a decent squad in the end. Sanju Samson will be their captain for this season as well and will be hoping to finally lift the trophy for the first time this year.

A new opening pair will greet the fans this time at the Royals’ playing XI. Yashasvi Jaiswal will step out with captain Samson to open the innings in IPL 2025. Jaiswal’s exploits at the top are well-known to everyone.
However, Samson has found his groove in the Indian team in T20Is batting at this position. He scored multiple centuries last year proving his mettle and sealing his position in the team. Samson looks certain to open the innings this time around in the IPL as well.
Nitish Rana, Riyan Parag, and Dhruv Jurel will form the all-Indian middle-order for the Royals. All three players are extremely talented even as Parag also offers a spin bowling option on a part-time basis. Shimron Hetmyer will don the role of a finisher once again having done brilliantly in the previous seasons for the franchise.
Wanindu Hasaranga will bat at number seven for the Royals and will also lead the spin bowling attack. Rajasthan have formed a superb pace attack and the likes of Jofra Archer, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Sandeep Sharma and Akash Madhwal are expected to make it to the XI at the start of the season. Kwena Maphaka, Kumar Kartikeya and Tushar Deshpande are among the back-up bowlers for them as well.
On the batting front, they have even signed a 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi and if all goes well, might even debut at some stage during IPL 2025.
