The men in blue took on Bangladesh in the second of the three-match ODI series at the Sher-E-Bangla stadium in Mirpur. The hosts’ skipper got an upper hand at the time of the toss and made the Indian team bowl first on the tricky surface of Sher-E-Bangla. Although skipper Litton’s decision was looking about to be proven wrong when Bangladesh lost six wickets only on the score of 69 runs.
But things changed for the hosts when the pair of Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mahmudullah came up with their brilliant batting heroics to rescue Bangladesh. They both stitched a 148-run partnership for the fifth wicket. On the back of their partnership, Bangladesh posted a decent total of 271 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 50 overs.
While chasing the target of 272 runs, India managed to score 266 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs and lost the match by 6 runs.
Following this result of the second ODI of the three-match series, cricket fans also came up with multiple opinions. Some of the fans were disappointed with India's second consecutive defeat against Bangladesh in the series. While a few appreciated the intent of Indian skipper Rohit Sharma who came to bat at number nine with an injured thumb.
