Ishan Kishan, on Saturday, created history by scoring the fastest-ever double-hundred in the history of cricket. He achieved this feat in the third ODI of the series against Bangladesh. The southpaw scored 210 runs in 131 runs. It took him just 128 deliveries to get to his double hundred.
Only a handful of players have been able to score over two hundred runs in ODI cricket. The first one ever to reach this major landmark was Indian legend, Sachin Tendulkar. However, the veteran to hold the record for most double hundreds (three) in ODI cricket is none other than Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma.
Now, the Indian skipper has welcomed the latest entrant to this club, Kishan, to this club with an Instagram post. He posted Kishan's photo from yesterday's game with the caption, "Yeh club ka mazza alag hai, @ishankishan23". The 24-year-old was quick to respond to this post. "Maza hi maza hai," he wrote.

As for the game, Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli's century (113 runs in 91 balls) helped India set a massive target of 410 runs. After that, the Indian bowlers were at the top of the game as they piled up the Bangla Tigers for a mere score of 182 runs in 34 overs, handing their team a 227-run victory.
"I think it was a perfect wicket to bat on. Perfect situation for me as well. Was looking to watch the ball properly and go with the flow. I think when you have so many senior players in the team. We have been doing conversations. Here at the international stage, you try to get a lot when you get a few," Kishan said in the post-match interview.
"I got a lot of help from the support staff. I was just picking the ball and the bowlers. Things went my way. After looking at the wicket, I knew it was going to play well. Was trying to smash the loose balls. There is so much conversation going on in the team for the fitness," he added.
