One of India's best ODI batters, Rohit Sharma, is working hard to prolong his international career. The opening batsman is eager to represent his nation in the 2027 ODI World Cup after winning Player of the Series in the most recent ODI series against Australia. Rohit has already lost 11 kilograms, but he wants to drop a few more to make sure he stays an important part of the one-day squad.

The legendary batsman would shed additional pounds before his next assignment, according to former India assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. Nayar was instrumental in Rohit's makeover, as he shed around 11 kg prior to the Australia series before returning to international action after a seven-month hiatus.

There was no question about his batting prowess, but Rohit could have done without a few more layers of fat. This resulted in a rigorous exercise regimen that included 700–800 repetitions for each body part, a bodybuilder phase, and Rohit skipping his favourite food. And the outcome amply demonstrates his transformation.

Rohit's mobility and intensity at the crease are clear indicators of his commitment to a rigorous regimen and emphasis on conditioning. He has amassed 504 runs at 50.40 in 11 ODIs this season, including two hundreds and two fifties, demonstrating that the change is having an impact.

In an earlier interview, Nayar revealed that Rohit is now exercising hard at the gym like a bodybuilder and has quit eating his favourite cuisine, vadapav. The batter garnered a lot of praise for his toned appearance on the Australian tour, proving that his work has paid off. Rohit has already lost eleven kilograms and has no intention of stopping.

"Three months of hard work, not eating his favourite food, training hard - maybe you will see a few more kilos down when we see him play next time," Nayar said on JioHotstar as Rohit slammed a century in the third ODI against Australia in Sydney.

The three-match ODI series against South Africa, which is set to begin on November 30, will see Rohit Sharma in action in his next assignment. The opening match will be held at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.
