Indian team is currently in action during the ongoing edition of the 20-20 World Cup under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Notably, Sharma is one of the four international cricketers in the current edition who had also featured in the inaugural season of the marquee tournament 15 years back in the year 2007.

As the 35-year-old is aiming to repeat the feat achieved by Dhoni in the first edition of the tournament, the Indian team is almost about to finish the line with just a win away from the knockouts of the eighth edition of the tournament.

Rohit took over the captaincy role from the former skipper Virat Kohli in the aftermath of India’s horrible campaign in last year’s 20-20 World Cup. Later on, he was also given the charge of Test captaincy earlier this year in the month of February. Since then, India has won a couple of white-ball assignments under the leadership of a Mumbai-born batter.

Meanwhile, Indian cricket Board president, Roger Binny has come up with his assessment while he was asked to deliver his opinion about the Indian captains who have ever led the team at the highest level of the game.

You can’t compare him to Kapil and Gavaskar - Roger Binny to MS Dhoni

“Rohit is an experienced player. He has played so many matches and been in so many situations. Everyone has a different approach. Dhoni is totally different, you can’t compare him, to Kapil, or Gavaskar. Each one has a different way of how they operate," said Binny on the sidelines of the 90th annual day of TNCA (Tamil Nadu Cricket Association).

Talking about the campaign of Rohit’s men in the ongoing edition of the 20-20 World Cup, they have won three matches out of the four they played so far in the tournament including a defeat against South Africa by a margin of five wickets. Now, the men in blue will lock horns in their last super-4 match against Zimbabwe.
