“Mohammad Asif was the toughest Pakistan bowler I faced. His skill level was very high. Asif used to swing the ball, and you cannot compare him with Shaheen Shah Afridi,” said Uthappa on the sidelines of the International League T20.

Currently, the former Karnataka batter is enjoying a decent run of form with the bat in the ongoing edition of the International League T20. He has scored 152 runs in five matches with an average of 30.40 with a good strike rate of 134.51.

Speaking of Robin Uthappa’s international career in the Indian colors, he played 46 ODIs and 13 T20Is in his career of almost 9 years. In these appearances, he scored 934 ODI runs and 249 T20I runs with six ODI half-centuries and 1 T20 half-century respectively.

Notably, Uthappa is also active in the role of cricket expert and commentator for various India-based TV broadcasters post-retirement.

For the unversed, it is the inaugural season of the International League T20 being played in the United Arab Emirates with six participating teams that are owned by the franchises of the Indian T20 League.
