India put on a dominating display against Namibia in the 20-20 World Cup and ended the campaign on a bright note. During the five matches in the Super 12 stage, the Indian players had to endure a lot of negative trolls on social media. Mohammed Shami, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma had to bore the brunt of the team’s two losses against Pakistan and New Zealand.

Even former India head coach Ravi Shastri was not spared. Despite all the negative criticism, Kohli and the team handled the defeat gracefully. The skipper was gracious enough to accept the losses and won hearts by hugging Mohammad Rizwan after the Pakistan game. Kohli, KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravi Ashwin also visited the Scotland dressing room to give their inputs to the team.

India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant took a leaf out of the book from the senior players and won the hearts by his kind gesture to Namibian player Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton. The incident occurred when the batter dived to complete the second run. Accidently, Pant stepped on the bat of the Namibian batter when he came forward to collect the ball.

Pant immediately touched the bat of Loftie-Eaton to show respect to the cricketing equipment. This kind gesture from the 24-year-old was lauded by all. Fans appreciated him for acknowledging this minute aspect of the game.

Speaking about the match, India were right on the money and brought the A-game to the fore. The team restricted Namibia for just 132 and later chased the target in 15.2 overs.
