Indian keeper-batter Rishabh Pant and England middle-order batter Harry Brook were involved in a playful banter on Day 4 of the ongoing Birmingham Test. Notably, this incident took place when Pant was batting at the crease with India aiming for a huge target.
As Pant decided to go against every English bowler during his 65-run knock off 58 balls with eight fours and three sixes, Brook, who was fielding in the slip cordon, wanted Pant to record the fastest Test century. However, Pant silenced him by stating that he’s not greedy for records.
Have a look at their conversation below:
Harry Brook: What is your fastest 100?
Rishabh Pant: Test cricket? 80-90 balls
Brook: The fastest I've done is 55 balls. You could have done that today
Pant: It's okay. Not very greedy for records. If it happens, it happens.

England were set a 608-run target by India
After declaring their second innings 427/6 in 83 overs, the Indian team reached a historic milestone by reaching an aggregate of 1000 runs in a single Test for the first time in the team’s cricketing history, going past their best of 916 scored against Australia at the SCG in Sydney in 2004.
Pant, who scored twin centuries in the Leeds Test and emerged as the first Indian batter and second keeper-batter to achieve this feat in England, could score only 90 runs in both innings combined in the Birmingham Test.
Interestingly, Shubman Gill, who scored 269 and 161 in both innings, scored the second-highest individual aggregate in a single Test with a tally of 430 runs, falling behind the former England batter Graham Gooch, who amassed a total of 456 runs against India at Lord’s in 1990.
