On 9 April 2023, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) locked horns with the defending champion Gujarat Giants (GT) in the ongoing IPL. The stage was set in Ahmedabad for an enthralling battle and the game did not disappoint KKR fans. Rinku Singh came up with a blistering knock ro win the game from the jaws of defeat.

The Southpaw batter smashed five consecutive sixes in the last over and sealed the victory for the Kolkata franchise. It was an unthinkable effort from Rinku Singh as KKR needed 29 runs in the last over while chasing 205 runs. Seeing that brutal hitting, fans went crazy and shared their views on social media.

Rinku Singh scored 48* runs off 21 balls against GT

Speaking of the match, GT batted first and scored 204 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. Vijay Shankar scored 63* runs off 24 balls while Sai Sudharsan scored 53 runs off 38 balls. In reply, KKR were going at a good pace. Both Nitish Rana and Venkatesh Iyer put up a partnership of 100 runs for the third wicket and Kolkata were on 128 runs for three wickets in 13.1 overs. Then, Rinku Singh came out to bat. But, during the 17th over, Rashid Khan produced his magic and picked up a hat-trick to derail the chase for KKR.

After that over, KKR needed 48 runs off 18 balls with three wickets in hand. Umesh Yadav was batting along with Rinku. Finally, in the last over, KKR needed 29 runs and Yash Dayal came up to bowl. On the first delivery, Umesh Yadav took a single and Rinku went for the strike. Then, he smashed five consecutive sixes and won the game for his franchise. Yash Dawal was absolutely devastated while Kolkata players and staffs were in a jubilant mood, celebrating the victory. Rinku Singh remained not out on 48* runs off 21 balls and won the Player of the Match award also.
