Revealed: Virat Kohli’s per-match fees for Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025

Virat Kohli made waves after agreeing to follow the BCCI diktat of playing domestic cricket to remain available for selection for the Indian team. Kohli, who retired from T20Is in 2024 and from Tests in May this year, only plays ODI cricket for India.

The Vijay Hazare Trophy will start on December 24 after the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy closes on the Indian domestic circuit. Since former India captain Virat Kohli decided to compete in the event, this season has attracted a lot of attention. 

Fans are ecstatic about Kohli's 15-year return to the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which he previously participated in during the 2009–10 season. This year, he will play for Delhi, and in addition to his return, there is interest in the salary he will receive for playing domestic cricket.

How much money will Virat Kohli make per match in Vijay Hazare Trophy?

Cricket players with 20 or less List A appearances get INR 40,000 per match, those with 21 to 40 matches earn INR 50,000 per match, and those with 41 or more List A appearances earn INR 60,000 per match, according to the BCCI's domestic pay structure. 

Kohli will receive INR 60,000 each game while playing for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy because he is in the top bracket due to his more than 300 List A appearances.

Kohli is not anticipated to play in every one of Delhi's seven league games. According to reports, Kohli will only play three games: against Andhra on December 24, Gujarat on December 26, and Railways on January 6.

Group D includes Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat, Saurashtra, Services, Odisha, Railways, and Andhra Pradesh. The knockout stages will begin on January 12 after the league phase concludes on January 11.

Virat Kohli's remarkable Vijay Hazare Trophy record is based on two stellar seasons for Delhi prior to his rise to prominence in the Indian national side.

Between 2008 and 2010, Kohli had 12 appearances in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and amassed an incredible 763 runs at an average of 69.33, including two fifties and four hundreds.
