Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been getting a lot of criticism for his batting form in the last few months. He hasn't been able to get enough runs under his belt since the Indian T20 League 2022. Recently, Kapil Dev called for Kohli to be dropped from the T20I team. However, looking closely, the right-hander isn't the only one who is not getting runs.

Players such as Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Shreyas Iyer are also not getting enough runs. Notably, the trio isn't getting criticized for the same. The only player who is under the scanner is Virat. A lot of former Indian cricketers have criticized him while the foreigners have defended him. Meanwhile, Sunil Gavaskar has said that when any other player apart from Kohli doesn't score runs, nobody says anything.

"I don't understand this that when Rohit Sharma doesn't score runs, nobody talks about it. When any other player doesn't score runs, nobody talks about it," said Gavaskar when asked on Sports Tak if he was worried about Kohli's form. "Form is temporary and class is permanent."

Rohit Sharma looks like he has got his form back. In the first ODI against England, he scored an unbeaten 76 runs with the team chasing a paltry target of 111 runs. Kohli didn't play the game as he was suffering from a groin injury. Meanwhile, the fans have praised Gavaskar for his statement. According to them, for the first time in the last few months, the 1983 World Cup winner has defended the Delhi player.

They feel that the 125-Test veteran must be appreciated for speaking out on the lack of form of the other individuals. Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant didn't have a great outing in the last few months, Pant and Iyer were struggling for runs in the series against South Africa. Also, Shreyas is struggling with the bat in the ongoing England tour, specifically against the short ball from the pacers.
