Reports - Shahid Afridi likely to miss PSL 7

As per some reports, all-rounder Shahid Afridi has asked to be pulled out of the biosecure bubble ahead of the start of the tournament

As per some, all-rounder Shahid Afridi might pull out of the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League, set to get underway on January 27. The veteran is a part of the Quetta Gladiators in what is his farewell season in the tournament. Afridi has not played any cricket since the first leg of the last season of PSL. He was part of many T20 tournaments but never went ahead to play the event, pulling out at the last moment due to injuries.

Afridi has cited back injury and family issues as reasons to give PSL 7 a miss. "Shahid Afridi's children are alone at home... and due to these reasons he wants to pull out from the bio-secure bubble," a source told Geo News.

Shahid Afridi, the legendary all-rounder played for the Multan Sultans last year but had to opt-out of the tournament due to a back injury. Multan Sultans went ahead to win the title that season.

The 46-year old has played a lot of cricket across the globe, but his contributions to the International team are unparalleled. He has played 27 Test matches, 398 ODI matches, and 99 T20 matches in a career that lasted over 20 years.

The all-rounder had over 8000 ODI runs and 395 wickets to his name. He scored over 11000 runs in total in his international career and took over 440 International wickets. Meanwhile, the first match of PSL 7 will be played between Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans. The finals of the season will be played on the 27th of February in Lahore.
