Nicholas Pooran is known for his swashbuckling hitting and every now and then, the West Indies batsman plays a blinder of a knock to leave the experts shell shocked. He is currently featuring in the fourth edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 League for the Northern Warriors and displayed his amazing hitting skills on Sunday during the game against Bangla Tigers.

Pooran came to bat in the second over of the innings after Waseem Muhammad got out and what followed was absolute carnage. The southpaw slammed 89 runs off just 26 deliveries with as many as 12 sixes to his name. The Warriors posted a massive total of 162/5 in 10 overs and ended up winning the game comfortably by 30 runs.

Nicholas Pooran now has five fifties in T10 League; the most in the history of the tournament.

The left-handed batsman hit 12 sixes during his brilliant knock which is the most by any player in an innings in the T10 League. Pooran has so far hit 60 sixes in the history of the competition; again the most by any player.

Pooran’s 89 is the second-highest individual score in the T10 League behind Chris Lynn’s 91 which came for Maratha Arabians in the 2019 season against the Team Abu Dhabi.

Nicholas Pooran scored 89 runs at a strike-rate of 342.3 which is the second-highest by a player in an innings in the T10 League facing 20+ balls. Jonny Bairstow owns the record as he had smashed 84 off just 24 balls at an impeccable strike-rate of 350 for Kerala Knights against Bengal Tigers.

On the back of Pooran’s 89-run knock, Northern Warriors posted a mammoth total of 162 runs in 10 overs. This is the second-highest total ever in the history of the T10 League. The highest total is 183/2 also recorded by Northern Warriors against Punjabi Legends in 2018.
