According to reports, negotiations between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) to trade Ravindra Jadeja and perhaps Sam Curran to the Jaipur-based team in order to acquire Sanju Samson are almost complete.
If the deal goes through, Jadeja, who was a part of the Royals' camp during their inaugural 2008 and 2009 seasons, will probably return to the team after 16 years, though nothing is definitive yet.
In 2008, Jadeja made his IPL debut with the Rajasthan Royals. After that, he joined CSK in 2012, and they kept him on board in 2018, 2022, and 2025. Additionally, Jadeja and CSK won the IPL three times in 2018, 2021, and 2023.
Jadeja was selected CSK captain prior to the 2022 season, but after winning just one of their first eight games, MS Dhoni took over.
Jadeja is CSK's top wicket-taker with 143 wickets and has participated in 254 IPL games overall, the fifth-most of any player. He shares the franchise record with Dhoni for the most Player-of-the-Match awards (16).
As fans observed that Ravindra Jadeja's Instagram account, "Royalnavghan," had vanished, rumors of a transfer between CSK and RR grew more intense.
Jadeja was quite active on social media, especially during the IPL seasons, when he regularly shared his love and support for the Chennai team along with some enigmatic comments.
Fans must have congregated on social media to send Jadeja greetings after his name surfaced in media reports regarding the Samson transfer deal, only to find that his official account was inactive. It's unknown if Jadeja cancelled or deleted his account because it was hacked or because he did it on his own.
