Chennai Super Kings off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin made a bold declaration during the 2025 Indian Premier League. Ravichandran Ashwin's YouTube channel has said that it will not be posting anything about the Chennai Super Kings for the remainder of the 2025 Indian Premier League.
The former Indian all-rounder made a bold choice after a controversy erupted following one of the Chennai Super Kings' matches in the current IPL 2025.
In a video posted to Ashwin's channel, veteran South African pundit Prasanna Agoram really questioned the selection of Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad over Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.
Prasanna Agoram’s Noor Ahmad statement irks CSK fans; Ashwin receives backlash
Former South Africa and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) statistics analyst Prasanna Agoram caused controversy last week when he chastised CSK for choosing Afghanistan wrist spinner Noor Ahmad despite Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja being on the side.
Agoram said the team could have done better by choosing a different batter instead of a third spinner.
The video was taken down after it received a lot of negative feedback on social media following CSK's third consecutive defeat. This includes RCB's first home loss since 2008 and Delhi Capitals' (DC) first home loss since 2010. Noor Ahmad now has the Purple Cap after taking 10 wickets in 4 games, while Ashwin and Jadeja have taken a combined total of 4.
R. Ashwin’s YouTube channel to stop analysis of CSK games for the rest of IPL
The video was taken down after it received a lot of negative feedback on social media following CSK's third consecutive defeat. This includes RCB's first home loss since 2008 and Delhi Capitals' (DC) first home loss since 2010. CSK is currently in ninth place in the standings after accumulating two points from their opening four games.
For the rest of the 2025 Indian Premier League, Ashwin's YouTube channel has made it clear that he would not be discussing or analyzing the Chennai Super Kings.
"Given the nature of the discussions on this forum over the last week, we want to be mindful of how things can be interpreted and have chosen to step away from covering CSK games, both previews and reviews, for the rest of this season.
We value the diversity of perspectives that come through on our shows and remain committed to ensuring the conversation stays true to the integrity and purpose of the platform we've established. The views expressed by our guests do not reflect Ashwin's personal opinions,” Ashwin’s YouTube admin stated.
After four games, CSK has rotated through 17 players, including all seven overseas alternatives, rather than following its usual selection strategy. MS Dhoni's role has also sparked a lot of debate, especially about his batting approach and, in some cases, his batting position, like during the match against RCB.
