Shimron Hetmyer has played a vital role with the bat for Rajasthan in the ongoing edition of the Indian T20 League. The West Indies cricketer has played handy cameos consistently in the slog overs and helped the team reach formidable scores on the board. However, the West Indies batter won’t be available for the next few matches for the franchise as he has temporarily left the bio-bubble on Sunday morning.
As per reports, the West Indies batter is visiting Guyana for the birth of his first child and will be back later in the tournament.
"We are helping him (Hetymer) in every way we can, and our best wishes are with him and his wife Nirvani," the Royals said on their official Twitter handle.
The 25-year-old has been nothing short of sensational with the bat in this ongoing season of the Indian T20 League. He is currently the third-highest run-scorer for the franchise. In 11 matches, he has managed to score 291 runs at an average and strike rate of 72 and 166.29 respectively. Hetmyer is expected to return during the business end of the tournament.
"We look forward to Shimron then returning to Mumbai, and resuming duties at the Royals for the remainder of our matches in IPL 2022," the franchise added.
The franchise also uploaded a video, in which the West Indies batter could be seen revealing the reason behind leaving the bio-bubble. You can see the video here.

After losing two consecutive matches, Rajasthan returned to winning ways on Saturday. Sanju Samson and Co. beat Punjab by 6 wickets, and, thereby, registered their 7th win of this season.
Yuzvendra Chahal, once again, starred with the ball as he picked 3 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs. However, despite that, Punjab managed to post a formidable score of 189 runs on the board. Rajasthan chased down the score in 19.4 overs, thanks to brilliant knocks from Yashasvi Jaiswal (68 off 41) and Shimron Hetmyer (31 off 16).
