The Mumbai Indians have confirmed that South African wicketkeeper, Quinton de Kock will miss their team’s opening fixture against Royal Challengers Bangalore, owing to the quarantine protocols. They also confirmed that Chris Lynn will be making his Mumbai Indians debut in today’s match. Earlier, few reports suggested that De Kock is likely to skip the quarantine and will be available for selection for today's game. However, the Mumbai Indians confirmed that the southpaw is currently under quarantine and will miss the game against RCB.
De Kock was in fine form in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League and stroked a staggering 503 runs at a strike rate of over 140. He gave Mumbai Indians consistent starts that allowed the defending champions to retain their crown in UAE. In the ODI series against Pakistan, De Kock looked in decent touch and scored 98 runs in the two matches he played.
